Intellectual Property Services

The Intellectual Property Management Unit is responsible for managing the university’s intellectual assets, with a focus on the claiming process and documentation of the university’s intellectual properties, including e.g. assessing suitable IP protection and following up on application procedures. The unit is also responsible for maintaining and managing the IP portfolio, and to support and train the researchers regarding IP – especially regarding patent landscaping and freedom to operate. The unit is further responsible to coordinate with relevant actors inside the university when university IP is used in collaborations with external parties, to protect the university’s IP portfolio and to make sure that any usage is fair and doesn’t impair the university. The unit is also a support unit of both The Research and Innovation Disclosure Unit and The Research and Innovation Utilization Support Unit.
